It’s the turn of the season and the perfect time to collect the beautifully shaped and detailed leaves and plants that catch your eye, and turn them into equally beautiful prints using the Gelli plate printing method. This will be a fun and easy way to create art from the bounty of nature. You will learn the basics of Gelli plate printmaking, explore color and texture, and leave with an array of prints to display, use in collage or create books and cards. All basic materials are provided, including the Gelli plates to use during class and an array of botanical materials for printing. Optional materials might be textures, special papers, cards and your own leaves and plants that you have gathered and pressed. When you sign up for class, you will receive a more detailed list of materials you might want to bring, and a short description of ideas for collecting and preserving your own botanical materials.
Partial and full need based scholarships are available.
