71st Annual Member Exhibition
Setting Stones April 3 - May 16, 2020
South Haven Center for the Arts 71st Annual Member Exhibition Entry Form
The Exhibition committee invites South Haven Center for the Arts members to join us in interpreting the theme ‘Setting Stones’. We began by thinking of stones and rocks as monuments-think Stonehenge, the 300th year anniversary of the Pilgrim’s landing at Plymouth Rock, shrines, tombstones. Then we looked at other idioms: walls and boundaries, set in stone, rolling stone, stone cold, written in stone, set in stone. This is a wide open theme, and the committee looks forward to seeing how many ways it can be interpreted.
Members will be able to submit 2 works for the show, with the understanding that at least one will be included, both if there is space. Maximum dimension for work is 36” in any direction. With each entry, please give a brief (two to three sentences) artist statement as to how your work relates to the theme. Artwork must be original, completed in the last 3 years, and not have been previously shown at the SHCA. Please label works with your label and contact information on the backside of each work. Work should be wired and ready to hang-no saw tooth hangers. Any special hanging hardware must be included with work and instructions for hanging. We cannot hang work from the ceiling. Please leave at least 2-3 inches between the top of the frame and the wire so that hanging hardware will not show. Please note any heavy or difficult to install work so that we may plan for it. We reserve the right to not hang work that does not meet our hanging requirements, show rules, or exhibition guidelines
