Summer 2023 Children’s Art Classes

Summer 2023 Children’s Art Classes

Welcome to summer at the South Haven Center for the Arts where classes for young artists are designed to encourage  creativity and self-expression in a safe and supportive environment. Certified art teacherSarah Rydecki will guide students through the processes and playful possibilities of art making. New to this year’s programming are opportunities  for working with ceramic clay. Ceramic clay is earthenware that requires firing in a kiln. We are fortunate and grateful  to be partnering with South Haven Public Schools for the use of their art department kilns.

Here, middle school and high school aged artists can gather to learn new techniques, express, share, and  inspire. Making art can be a solitary experience, but we learn so much from one another! Sharing opportunities for learning about a different art media, former middle school art teacher Sarah Rydecki will give  students the chance to acquire some new skills that can be applied to their own unique interests and  artwork style. Pick and choose which weeks to attend or sign up for all six.

See each class description and register HERE.

Please note that age groupings for classes are used as guidelines for planning developmentally appropriate curriculum -  we believe that parents/guardians know their children’s abilities, interests, and comfort levels best. We invite you to enroll  your young person in the class(es) that seem best for them.
