Artist Statement

As a mixed-media, abstract expressionist,  what is seen today is an emotional exploration through many years of caregiving and eventual loss; a journey from adversity, a discovery in humility, and recovery to authenticity.

In the beginning there was a trilogy. From a darkness, forming a textural use of acrylics exuding tactile movement with varied depths. An ebb and flow of numerous color and hue through a vail to a breath of light, releasing fear and a bearing of soul.

A visual story on canvas

UNDER THE SEA: a submersion of struggles beneath waters yet surrendered.

BRAVING THE FOREST: standing exposed  facing monsters in battle.

TURNING THE PAGE: a triumph in survival from past to present.

With an education in graphic design, my journey has been an evolution that encompasses creation on canvas and in life. An experimentation with a combination of found objects, graphic manipulation and photography using multiple platforms.
