Regional Juried Art Exhibit Winners

South Haven Center for the Arts, recently presented cash awards to the top three winners of the Center’s first annual Regional Juried Art Exhibit.  Gail Potocki, Grand Junction, first place $500 for her oil on linen, The Angel, Laurel Kuehl, Portage, second place $250, for her pastel, “Midwest Sky”, and Charles Spreitzer, South Haven, third place $100, for his mixed media, Loosely Constructed. Judges were Brenda Sipe, MFA from Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University, Bill Mayer, MFA from Hope College and Paul Flickinger, MFA of the Gwen Frostic School of Art, Western Michigan University.  Over 80 pieces entered into the juried exhibit and after all was said and done the judges accepted 30 works. The exhibit, free to the public, features the work of 23 area artists. It is on display in the Center’s lower gallery (600 Phoenix St.) through Feb. 21.
