Art Center Needs Volunteers to Chair Committees

The staff and board members look forward to another exciting and growth-filled year at the South Haven Center for the Arts. We’re starting the year with two first-time events, the Regional Juried Art Exhibit and the Artists Market.

We are also continuing events from last year such as Fun Dance Fridays, Haunted Gallery, St. Paddy’s Family Party, Mistletoe Market and the Snowflake Ball. To ensure that all our activities will be successful, we invite you to bring in your new ideas and assist us in any way you can.

The following events need chair persons. The staff will be happy to assist you so that your role as “chair” will be a harmonious and successful one.

Spring Gala, 6 p.m. to 10:00 pm, May 22, location up to committee: Chair recruits committee volunteers to assist with the development and completion of the evening’s theme and timeline; no auction involved. This is an annual fund-raising event for the Art Center. Each year the event has a new theme which may include gourmet food, entertainment, reflecting committee’s creative ideas.

Haunted Gallery, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 23: Chair recruits committee and volunteers to assist with the development and completion of the day’s theme. The Art Center transforms into a Haunted Gallery full of spooky, living art; and activities designed for children up to 10 years of age.

Snowflake Ball, 7-10 p.m., Dec. 11, Foundry Hall: Chair recruits committee and volunteers to assist with carrying out the evening’s theme; no auction involved. People dress up for this evening filled with dancing to live music.

If you’re interested in chairing any of these events, or serving on any of the committees, call me at the Art Center, 637-1041, or email me at mmaguire77@verizon.net

We look forward to working with you in the New Year.

Sincerely,

Marie Maguire
