Art Center sponsors ballroom dancing workshops
Get out your dancing shoes and enjoy a 6 sessions of ballroom dancing with Paulette Rieger at the South Haven Center for the Arts, 600 Phoenix St.
Rieger has been dancing for over 20 years. She has taught and performed throughout west Michigan. Rieger believes that everyone regardless of skill level can enjoy the art of dance. “It is good for the mind, body and soul,” she says. Rieger enjoys her students ranging in age from 3 to 83.
Students participating in the workshops will learn the basic steps to the Waltz (Nov.3), Waltz/Foxtrot (Nov. 10), Foxtrot/Rumba (Nov. 17), Rumba/Swing (Nov. 24), Swing/Electric Slide (Dec. 1), and Electric Slide/Bachata (Dec. 8). Rieger advises wearing comfortable, soft soled shoes. Tennis shoes with rubber soles restrict movement. The sessions are designed for singles or couples, beginners or those needing a refresher course.
The six workshops take place Tuesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m., Nov. 3-Dec. 8, and are $12 per person, per session. Art Center members receive discounts.
