Still time to sign up for Art Center’s Advanced Photography Class

Local photographer and artist D. John Huenink, whose exhibit A Photographer’s Journey…from Dimensional Art to the Camera, was recently featured at the Art Center, is offering an Advanced Photography Class: Editing Your Photographs….Getting a Head Start, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Nov. 10 at the South Haven Center for the Arts, 600 Phoenix St.

There are still openings, notes Marie Maguire, Executive Director of the Art Center. Students should bring a laptop with two programs preloaded into it: Picasa from Google, a free trial program (only works for 30 days), and Light Room from Adobe. Picasa is free. Light Room costs between $250 and $300 – both can be downloaded from the internet. In addition, students should have many pictures on their laptops which they can access. It would be best if they had both RAW files as well as large jpg files (over two meg.). If possible, students should bring a card with both types of files on it (2-3 each), plus a reader card.

Huenink, who resides near Saugatuck, looks forward to helping students edit their pictures and showing them the editing process.

The fee for the Advanced Photography Workshop is $55; members receive discounts.
