A Night for the Museums Fundraiser begins in November

Six local restaurants and the museums of South Haven have combined to create a unique fundraiser: “A Night for the Museums”.

“People can eat out and support their local museums at the same time,” says Marie Maguire, Executive Director of the South Haven Center for the Arts.

Patrons can order off the menu, which may include specials. “The owners will be delighted to welcome both new and familiar patrons with the best they have to offer,” says Maguire. At the end of the evening, owners will contribute a generous percentage of sales to the following museums: Liberty Hyde Bailey, Historical Association of South Haven, Michigan Maritime, and South Haven Center for the Arts.

The restaurants participating on the first Thursday of each month starting in November are: Clementines, Nov. 5, Harborside Bistro, Dec. 3, Thirsty Perch, Jan. 7, 2010, The Vineyard, Feb. 4, Maria’s, March 4, and Phoenix Street Café, April 1.

Maguire encourages everyone to enjoy a night out with friends and family, or with that special someone. “Come support the museums and Bon Appetit!” The Thursday schedule for the fundraiser will also be listed on the Art Center’s website: www.southhavenarts.org as an up-to-date reminder to enjoy “A Night for the Museums”.
